Fairfax City Man Faces Multiple Charges In Hit-And-Run: Police Report

A Fairfax City man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that occurred Friday night on Main Street, according to police.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A Fairfax City man is facing multiple charges after he left the scene of a collision on Main Street Friday night and later filed a false report that the truck involved in the hit and run had been stolen, according to the weekly crime report.

City of Fairfax Police officers responded around 7:10 p.m. to the report of a hit and run in the 10500 block of Main Street.

The person who called into police said their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck nearby. The driver of the pickup backed into a park lot and then left the scene on foot, according to police.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the pickup truck, unoccupied, and with extensive damage to its front end. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the pickup failed to provide his contact information and had filed a false report with police that the truck had been stolen, according to police. No injuries were reported from the hit andrun.

After obtaining warrants from the Fairfax County Magistrate's Office for felony hit and run and filing a false police report, officers took 45-year-old Scott Perryman of Fairfax into custody.

Perryman was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where was served with the warrants. He was then held on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
