Fake ID Use Goes Awry in Fairfax: Police
After being rebuffed at a Best Buy for fake identification, man shows fake ID to police after being pulled over, and dominoes fall.

FAIRFAX, VA — Here's a tip: if your fake ID is so obviously fake that a store clerk refuses to honor it, then don't show it to a cop. The clerk can't arrest you but the cop certainly can.
And so it went this past Saturday, according to Fairfax Police.
Devonte Stephan Butler, 26, of the 19400 block of Brassie Place in Maryland, was arrested for possession of a fake driver's license, no valid operator's license and expired vehicle registration.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to police, Butler tried to purchase merchandise from the Best Buy on 9652 Main Street, presumably with a credit card, but had his ID rebuffed as fake.
Store employees alerted police, and said Butler left in a vehicle. Police soon found him, pulled him over and were presented with, yes, a fake ID.
