Fake Serviceman Demands Victim's Vehicle For Military Purposes: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a Woodbridge man who they say entered a Crystal City home and demanded the resident give him her vehicle.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 24-year-old Woodbridge man, who identified himself as a member of the military, entered a woman's home in the Crystal City area and demanded that the woman give him her car for military purposes, according to police.
Officers from the Arlington Police Department responded around 9:53 a.m. on Tuesday to the 2900 block of S. Grant Street for a breaking and entering report. A preliminary investigation revealed that a man entered a woman's home, showed her military identification and demanded that she give him her vehicle, according police. When the victim refused, the man left her home and tried the door handles of three vehicles parked nearby. He told the owner of one of the vehicles that he needed it for military purposes.
The officers who responded to the scene located the suspect in the area and took him to custody, according to police.

ACPD arrested and charged 24-year-old Dayan Balderrama of Woodbridge with burglary and attempted robbery. He also was charged on two counts of impersonating a law enforcement officer and three counts of vehicle tampering. and Attempted Robbery. Balderrama was then held without bond.
