Falls Church Man Faces DUI Charge In 2-Vehicle Crash On I-66: Police
Virginia State Police charged one of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash in the westbound Interstate 66 Express Lanes with DUI.
FAIRFAX, VA — Virginia State Police charged 32-year-old Jose G. Mendoza of Falls Church with driving under the Influence (first offense) in connection with two crashes that occurred early Sunday morning on the westbound Interstate 66 Express Lanes at the 56-mile marker in Fairfax County.
Around 3:43 a.m., Mendoza was driving a 2019 Toyota C-HR westbound in the Express Lanes and lost control of the vechicle, struck the jersey wall, and came to a stop in the left travel lane, according to VSP. As a result of the crash, the C-HR lost all power and went dark.
Moments later, a 2023 Ranger Rover traveling in the left lane struck the C-HR in the rear then overturned twice into the median, according to VSP.

My Doan, a 43-year-old passenger in the Range Rover, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the SUV.
The driver of the Range Rover, 48-year-old George Davis III of Woodbridge, and second passenger, 40-year-old Shamal Taylor, received minor injuries. Taylor was not wearing a seatbelt.
