Fatal Shooting Victim Identified As 43-Year-Old Silver Spring Man
A 43-year-old man from Silver Spring was fatally shot late Friday night in northwest Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 43-year-old Silver Spring man was fatally shot late Friday night in northwest Washington, D.C., according to police.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded around 11:09 p.m. for the report of a shooting in the 100 block of Farragut Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, police located an adult male shooting victim, who was identified as 43-year-old Richard Ruffin, III, of Silver Spring.
D.C. Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene. After examining Ruffin and finding no signs consistent with live, they pronounced him dead on the scene. He was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for a homicide in the District. Anyone with information about Friday night's fatal shooting is asked to call polic at 202-727-9099. Anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
