2nd Degree Murder Charge Filed In Fatal Stabbing Of Fairfax Man In DC
DC police arrested an Alexandria man Thursday in connection with the fatal stabbing of 36-year-old Anvar Guliyev of Fairfax on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department charged a 34-year-old Alexandria man with second degree murder in connection to the fatal stabbing of 36-year-old Anvar Guliyev of Fairfax late Wednesday night in Northwest DC.
Officers responded around 11:58 p.m. for the report of a fight inside a garage in the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest. Later, the police were alerted that two people had turned up at a nearby hospital seeking treatment for apparent stab wounds.
One of the victims was in critical condition, while the other, identified as Guliyev, died from his injuries, according to police.

Through their investigation detectives identified Khalil Khalilov of Alexandria as a suspect in the case. Police arrested Khalilov on Thursday, charging him with second degree murder while armed and assault with the intent to kill.
