Felony Child Neglect Charges For Woodbridge Mother
A woman was arrested Thursday after her 2-year-old son was found unsupervised on a playground in Woodbridge: Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A woman was arrested Thursday after her 2-year-old son was found unsupervised on a playground at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Stevens Road, according to Prince William County Police. Ashley Marie Beruete, 34, of, the aforementioned address, was charged with felony child neglect.
Around 2:15 p.m., police arrived at the apartments for a reported child neglect incident. A witness said the boy was found playing on the playground unsupervised around 1:30 p.m., and the witness tried but failed to locate his parents. Police canvassed the neighborhood and found the child's mother around 2:50 p.m.
An investigation found that "the child somehow got out of the residence while the accused was asleep." The child wasn't injured and was released to the custody of a family member.
