Fishing Derby April 1 at Ashby Pond Conservatory in Fairfax
Pre-registration is required for the annual City of Fairfax event. The fee is $5 per fisherman; the pond will be stocked with many trout.
FAIRFAX, VA — Grab your rods, your special bait if you have it, your ice, your coolers and maybe your patience for an adventurous trout expedition only for the strong of heart — or something like that.
It's the annual City of Fairfax Fishing Derby, April 1 — no foolin' — at the Ashby Pond Conservatory, 9817 Ashby Road.
The bitin' should be good, inasmuch that the pond will be stocked with hundreds of trout.

Also, standard bait will be provided, and volunteers will provide fish-cleaning demonstrations. A limited number of rods will be available to borrow.
The cost is $5, and there will be three 45-minute fishing time slots: 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m.
