Founder Of Fundraising Platform Killed In His Home: Fairfax Police

Gret Glyer, the 32-year-old CEO of DonorSee, was shot to death in his Fairfax home, according to police.

FAIRFAX, VA — The founder of an online fundraising platform was fatally shot in his Fairfax home, police said Friday.

Officers responded about 3 a.m. Friday to Bolton Village Court, where they found the body of 32-year-old Gret Glyer, according to police, who said they are investigating the death as a homicide.

Glyer was the CEO of DonorSee, a website that allows donors to give directly to people in need across the globe and receive video updates showing the impacts of their contributions. DonorSee has raised millions since it was started in 2016, according to its website.

“Gret is a shining light that has brought hope and joy to everyone and everything he touched,” DonorSee said in a Facebook post. “The DonorSee team is in shock.”

Glyer leaves behind two young children and a wife, according to DonorSee, which is raising funds for his family in the wake of his death.
