Free Holiday Lyft Rides Under Way In Woodbridge

Had a bit too much to drink at that holiday party? Get a free SoberRide in Woodbridge with Lyft through Jan. 1.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — With many folks celebrating the holidays at various parties or gatherings that often include alcohol, don't risk your life or put others at risk by driving after drinking. The nonprofit organization Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) has partnered with Lyft to provide a SoberRide service throughout the Northern Virginia area now through Monday, Jan. 1., from 8 p.m.-4 a.m.

Residents 21 or older can download Lyft to their phones, enter a promo code in the app's 'Promo' section and receive their limited-cost ride home (free up to a $15 fare). WRAP's weekly Holiday SoberRide promo codes will be posted at 2 p.m. Dec. 23 and Dec. 31 on www.SoberRide.com. You can't reserve a ride or schedule a pickup in advance.

SoberRide is offered throughout Lyft's Washington, D.C. coverage area which includes all or parts of: the District of Columbia; the Maryland counties of Montgomery and Prince George's; and the Northern Virginia counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William. WRAP has provided over 68,000 safe rides home in the Washington area since 1993. For more information, click here.
