Freezing Rain Advisory in Northern Virginia

Drivers in the area should be extra careful Monday, as there is a freezing rain advisory in effect until 6 p.m.

A freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain may cause travel difficulties, according to the National Weather Service, which advised roads may be slippery and drivers should slow down.

The freezing rain is projected to start sometime between 9 and 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Included in the freezing rain advisory are Fairfax, Alexandria, and Falls Church, as well as parts of Maryland.

The high in Fairfax City on Monday is near 35 degrees, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service.
