Fireworks, Soccer Match To Affect Traffic Near Fairfax City
A soccer match and fireworks will bring increased traffic and a temporary road closure near Fairfax City.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Drivers traveling near George Mason University’s Fairfax Campus should prepare for increased traffic and a temporary road closure during a men’s soccer match and fireworks display Thursday.
George Mason’s Welcome Week match against William & Mary will begin at 7 p.m. on the field next to the Field House along University Drive. Tickets cost $10 for the general public and may be purchased online or at the gate on game day.
Because of the anticipated crowd, the entrance from University Drive at Rapidan River Road will be opened to provide overflow parking for the match, according to a university traffic advisory.
