Giant To Open In New Fairfax City Development

A Giant grocery store will open as part of a new mixed-use development in the City of Fairfax.

FAIRFAX, VA—A Giant grocery store will be at the center of a new mixed-use development in the City of Fairfax.

It will be part of Combined Properties' Scout on the Circle development at Fairfax Circle near Lee Highway (Route 29) and Fairfax Boulevard (Route 50). The project will include 400 apartments, a 54,000 square foot Giant and 29,000 square feet of additional retail space.

The Giant will be a full-service grocery store with pharmacy. Combined Properties is working with the City of Fairfax to obtain permits and other steps in the approval process. Construction on the Giant is expected to start in late 2017 or early 2018. The Giant's addition will mark the second the Landover, Md. grocery store chain opens in the City of Fairfax. The other location is at 11200 Fairfax Blvd.

“The City of Fairfax is very pleased that Combined Properties has this lease agreement with Giant Food for a store at Scout on the Circle.”, said City of Fairfax Mayor David Meyer in a statement. “Combined Properties has a first-rate project that will become an iconic entrance to our community."
