The Global Girls Summit is a one-day interactive symposium that engages middle school girls in unique learning activities focused on leadership and global citizenship.

The theme of the Summit is “Educate a Girl, Change the World.” The purpose of this summit is to develop leadership and skills, while increasing each participant’s awareness around challenges sub-Saharan African girls face, in relation to a range of topics, including education, health, and access to clean water. In addition, the summit will inspire and encourage participants to apply their leadership skills to find tangible solutions to challenges in a project-based activity. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in topics effecting girls globally through an open discussion.

This year, we are honored to announce that Tiara Willis will serve as the
Summit Keynote Speaker. Currently volunteering and teaching with AIESEC at an orphanage in Africa’s largest slum located in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya, Tiara Willis graduated Albright College with a degree in International Business. Tiara is a State Department Scholar, recipient of the *Woman on the Rise* award, a community activist and a brand ambassador. She was voted “Most Inspiring Girl” in Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2014, has completed academic research in the United States and Africa (including studying the Chinese labor system and infrastructure and aid in Africa), she speaks 5 languages, has lived in 4 countries, and has visited 25 countries, all before finishing her undergraduate career. Tiara will share her extraordinary leadership abilities and passion to serve her community with participants of the Summit.
