GMU Student Competes in World University Games
Shaina Krause places fifth in Taekwondo at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China.

Shaina Krause, a member of the U.S. Taekwondo National Collegiate Team, finished fifth in the World University Games in Shenzhen, China.
Krause is a student at , and trains at in Burke.
Krause's coach, Master Q.V. Phan Le, was pleased with Krause's performance. “She competed with the world’s top ranking players, including Chinese two time world champion He Lumin.

Krause is on the short list to compete for a place on the 2012 US Olympic Team in Taekwondo.
“The tournament was an amazing experience that opened my eyes to how far I've come," said Krause. "I gained insight into what my competitors will be like at this high level."

"The World University Games gave her the opportunity to see first-hand, with over 150 countries participating, how hungry she has to be in order to be the best in the world,” said Master Le.
