Grinch Steals Mechanical Polar Bear, Says Police

Our neighborhood is a crazy, colorful mess and we appreciate ever decoration — well, maybe not the inflatable of a dog chewing on Santa’s pants as the jolly elf frantically climbs a Christmas Tree.
But someone on Dwight Avenue has made Christmas a little less bright for one resident. Police responded to a home in the 10100 block at 8:44 p.m. Monday regarding a theft.
Someone had stolen a mechanical polar bear Christmas decoration from the front lawn of the home, according to Fairfax City Police.

We’ve been here before: Halloween decorations were stolen from the lawns in October in the Daniels Run area. In one case, it was a set of 40-year-old Peanuts character cutouts.
