Hit-and-Run Driver Injures 10-Year-Old in Fairfax: Police
A 10-year-old girl wound up with a broken arm after being struck Saturday by a hit-and-run driver, according to Fairfax Police: crime report

FAIRFAX, VA — A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after being knocked to the ground by a hit-and-run driver in the area of Armstrong Street and Linden Street, according to Fairfax City Police. The victim, a pedestrian, suffered a broken arm, as well as bruises and a cut to one of her hands.
The driver is described as being around 50 and dark skinned. He was driving a blue vehicle, possibly a Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle is believed to have damage to the passenger side mirror.
Shortly before 4 p.m., police responded to the scene and found that a vehicle had struck the girl with its passenger side mirror. The driver actually stopped initially but then fled when asked for identification. The girl was taken to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Main Street / Chain Bridge Road – On May 5 at 11:20 PM officers investigating a vehicle crash determined that the driver involved was intoxicated. Meghann Forshey, 26, of 11337 Westbrook Mill Lane, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol -- second offense within five years.

9600 Block of Fairfax Boulevard – On May 6 at 2:37 AM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated in excess of the speed limit and with a flat tire determined that the driver was intoxicated. Sarah Nicole Jenkins, 19, of 4450 Rivanna River Road, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

11180 Fairfax Boulevard / Comfort Inn – On May 6 at 2:27 AM a female subject who had previously been told several times by employees and police officers not to return to the property was reported to once again have returned to the lobby. Susan Lynn Shaw, 58, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with trespassing.
