Jail Death: Man Was Facing Local Charges

A man who died earlier this month at the Central Virginia Regional Jail was facing charges in Prince William County and the City of Fairfax, according to The Daily Progress.

On Tuesday, Virginia State Police announced the death of Shawn Christopher Berry, 37, of Culpeper. According to The Daily Progress, the death Aug. 9 is under investigation.

Berry had been picked up Aug. 7. He had been charged with working as a contractor without a license and financial exploitation of a mentally incapacitated person in Fairfax and he was wanted for failing to appear in court in Prince William County. He also faced charges in Maryland.
