Jailed Robber Charged With Bank Robbery in Fairfax

A man already in jail for robbery was served with a felony warrant Monday for the Feb. 23 robbery of a Navy Federal Credit Union in Fairfax.

FAIRFAX, VA — A man who's already in jail for robbery in Arlington County was served with a felony warrant Monday for the Feb. 23 robbery of a Navy Federal Credit Union, 11180 Lee Highway, according to Fairfax Police. Christopher Alan Martin, 32, of the 3500 block of 16th Street in Arlington, was served at the Arlington County Jail.

Bank employees told police that a man entered the credit union and gave a teller a note demanding money. He wan handed an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled on foot. Then, working in conjunction with Arlington County Police, Fairfax Police identified the suspect.

Maple Street / Oakwood Street – On April 20 at 10:08 PM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he had observed being operated erratically determined that the driver was intoxicated. James Tobias, 46, of 4321 Andes Drive, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusal of blood/breath test.

10600 Block of Railroad Court – On April 25 at 6:22 PM the resident reported that she had received telephone calls from a male subject who claimed he was a sergeant in the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office and stated she owed money for fines for missing jury duty. She was instructed to obtain prepaid gift cards and provide him with the numbers, which she did. She subsequently was unable to regain contact with the individual and called police.
