Labor Day 2018: What's Open, What's Closed In Fairfax City

FAIRFAX, VA — If you happen to work at, say, the beach, Labor Day represents one of the busier weekends of the summer, if not the entire year. It's one final chance for tourists to fill up the coffers, from the Outer Banks in North Carolina to Ocean City in Maryland. But for city and county governments, Labor Day is a chance to hit the pause button.

• City government offices are closed
• Recycling Center is closed
• General District Court is closed
• CUE Bus runs on a Saturday schedule
• Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center is open
• Refuse and recycling are not collected; Monday and Tuesday routes are collected on Tuesday, 9/4
