The Lorax and Old Town Fairfax: Tree Installation Underway
Seven new trees will be planted on both sides of Main Street near the intersection of East Street.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax is going all Lorax with a project that began Saturday in the downtown area.
We're talking trees, seven new ones, that will be planted on both sides of Main Street at the entrance to Old Town Fairfax near the intersection of East Street, according to city officials.
Work began with asphalt removal last weekend.

Larkspur and American elm trees will be planted on the south side of the intersection in the existing parking area, and three parking spaces will be removed from the East/Main parking lot for the new trees.
The trees, professionally installed, will have a provision for seasonal decorative lighting.
