MAC All-Sportsmanship Recognition For College Wrestler From Fairfax
Former Fairfax High School student Mauro Pellot-Vazquez was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's Winter All-Sportsmanship Team.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax High School grad Mauro Pellot-Vazquez was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's Winter All-Sportsmanship Team.
A junior studying computer science at Alvernia University, Pellot-Vazquez is a member of th the Reading, Pennsylvania school's men's wrestling team.
During his sophomore season with the Golden Wolves, Pellot-Vazquez wrestled in 38 matches, racking up a 28-10 record. This was enough to qualify him for the NCAA National Championships, where he finished third in the NCCA Southeast Regional.

With the help of Pellot-Vazquez's winning performance, the Golden Wolves posted a 17-6 team record, with second place finishes in the MAC Championships and the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Pellot-Vazquez was one of seven Alvernia University Winter Student-Athletes named to the MAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team:

"The MAC All-Sportsmanship Teams recognize student-athletes who exemplify great character and display exceptional sportsmanship both on and off the field. They represent their team, institution and the conference with high integrity, and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches and opponents. They are humble and hold themselves with pride, competing at the same level of intensity no matter who the competition is, or outcome of the contest. These student-athletes were selected by the head coaches and student-athletes from their respective teams."
