Yesterday at 6:13 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Livingstone Lane in Merrifield for a brandishing call. A local man observed a man brandishing a machete and provided a description of the suspect to officers. Officers were able to identify the suspect as Cristofer Turissini, 35, of Merrifield, and obtained information that he had multiple warrants for his arrest. Officers searched the immediate area and did not locate Turissini.

After continuing their search that evening, at 11:49 p.m. officers located Turissini inside a parked vehicle in the 2700 block of Livingstone Lane. Officers initially attempted to have Turissini exit the vehicle, but he refused.

After Turissini continued to refuse officers’ directions, additional officers from FCPD’s Special Operations Division, Crisis Negotiations Team, and Crisis Response Team responded to assist with the barricade.

At 4:55 a.m., after hours of attempted negotiations, officers from our Special Operations Division took Turissini into custody and located a machete inside of the vehicle. Turissini sustained injuries from a K9 bite and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Turissini was then taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of Simple Assault, Brandishing a Bladed Weapon, and Obstruction of Justice. Turissini was also served with six outstanding warrants and is currently being held no bond.
