Man Arrested For Striking Car With Shopping Cart At Amazon Fresh Store

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A 40-year-old man is facing destruction of property and drunk in public charges after he used a shopping cart to slam into a car parked at a city grocery story on Friday night, according to police.

Officers from the City of Fairfax Police Department responded around 9:04 p.m. on Friday for the report of vandalism at the Amazon Fresh store located at 10360 Fairfax Blvd.

The person who called police told the officers that a man had damaged their Honda sedan by hitting it repeatedly with a shopping cart and kicking the windshield. The officers found the man a sort distance away and determined that he was intoxicated, according to police.

The officers arrested Kevin Legg of no fixed address to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where they charged him with felony destruction of property and drunk in public. Legg remains in custody and is being held without bond, according to police.
