Man Driving Stolen Vehicle Busted In Sterling: Police

A man was arrested Friday after fleeing from police in what turned out to be stolen vehicle: Loudoun County Sheriff's Offce.

STERLING, VA — A man was arrested late Friday after fleeing from police in what turned out to be stolen vehicle, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Abdullah Anwar, 23, of Herndon, was charged with felony speed to elude, auto theft, driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving by speed and driving on a suspended driver's license.

Shortly after 11 p.m., police spotted a vehicle speeding near the intersection of Route 28 and Route 7. They tried to pull it over but the driver instead increased his speed and took off before being stopped in the parking lot of Waterview Plaza, where he was arrested. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Herndon.
