McLean Man, 85, Dies In 3-Car Crash On Arlington Boulevard In Fairfax

FAIRFAX, VA — An 85-year-old man from the Churchill neighborhood in McLean died from injuries he received in a three-car crash that occurred Friday morning on Arlington Boulevard east of Fairfax City, according to Fairfax County Police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that around 11:44 a.m. the driver of a 2015 Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Stonehurst Drive on a flashing yellow light, when their car was struck by a 2010 Toyota Prius in the intersection. The Prius was traveling eastbound when the collision occurred, according to police.

After being struck, the Camry hit a 2023 Mercedes-Benz Eqs300, which was stopped at the intersection. Paul Hession, who was a passenger in the Camry, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries but he was pronounced dead.

The drivers of the three vehicles were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, speed or alcohol do not appear to be factors in this fatal crash, according to police.
