MD Man Charged In Woman's Assault Near Main Street Marketplace: Police
A Maryland man faces multiple charges in an assault that took place Tuesday afternoon outside Main Street Marketplace in Fairfax City.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A Maryland man was charged in connection with an assault that took place Saturday afternoon on Main Street, Fairfax City police said in a news release.
Ronaldo Thomas, 41, of Capital Heights, Maryland, was charged with one count each of strangulation and assault and battery in connection with the choking of a woman outside the Main Street Marketplace, police said.
The woman, who was not identified, suffered a minor neck injury but declined medical treatment, police said.

Thomas was being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond, police said.
A man approached a woman from behind around 2:20 p.m. at the entrance of Main Street Marketplace, police said. He wrapped his arm around the victim's neck, causing her to fall to her knees, police said.

The man then left the area but was later located by police at a nearby shopping center, police said.
