FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fairfax County Police arrested a Maryland man on multiple felony offenses involving fraudulent purchases of automobiles at dealerships in the City of Fairfax, Tysons, and Chantilly.
An FCPD investigation revealed that in early November 36-year-old Nickolas Mathis of Laurel, Maryland had purchased a 2020 Dodge Charger and two 2015 Mercedes-Benz sedans, worth more than $142,000, from three separate dealerships in the county. An investigation revealed that a man completed an online application on Nov. 6, and was pre-approved to buy a 2016 Mercedes S-Class. Police say the man visited the dealership and provided fraudulent documents and signed a purchase agreement.
