Medical Marijuana Facility In Manassas To Serve Fairfax City Area
Dalitso LLC will open the doors in Manassas by year's end, reports say, and will also serve Prince William, Arlington and Loudoun counties.
MANASSAS, VA — A medical marijuana facility is slated to open in Manassas by year's end, according to reports. The facility, owned by Dalitso LLC, is one of five going up in Virginia following the passage of new legislation allowing doctors to decide on issuing certificates for medical cannabis use by patients.
The facility will serve Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington and Fairfax counties, including the cities of Falls Church, Fairfax City, Manassas, Manassas Park and Alexandria.
Dalitso is a Virginia-based company, the Prince William Times reports. The Manassas facility is currently the only one planned for the company, and the exact location has yet to be revealed because the company is still finalizing permits with the city.

According to a company spokesman, the Manassas facility will grow, process and dispense medicinal cannabis products in one location. The company also will grow marijuana indoors and process the plant to extract CBD and THC-A oils on site. The products will then be sold through a dispensary storefront located in the same building.
According to Virginia NORML, patients or a parent or legal guardian can apply for a medical certification from a doctor in the Virginia Board of Pharmacy's registry and register for the medical marijuana program. Marijuana possession is illegal in Virginia, but state law allows the doctor certification to be used as affirmative defense when approached by law enforcement or in court.
