Here are the openings and closings to know around Fairfax City for Memorial Day 2022.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Many services, agencies and government offices around Fairfax City will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.
The holiday is considered the unofficial start of summer and a time to reflect and honor those who have died serving in the armed forces.
The 22nd Annual Ride of the Patriots to Rolling to Remember will take place Sunday, May 29 at Patriot Harley-Davidson at 9739 Fairfax Boulevard in Fairfax City. Hosted by Patriot Harley-Davidson and the Fairfax VA Chapter, Harley Owners Group, the four-day event starts on Friday with food, live music, chapter rides and a candlelight vigil in the evening.

The activities continue at the dealership through Saturday, culminating in Sunday morning's ride to RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. to join Rolling To Remember. The weekend ends with a chapter ride to the Falls Church Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30.
Some services in Fairfax City are closed or modified for the federal holiday on Monday, May 30. Below are the changes to know.

City of Fairfax offices will be closed on Monday, May 30.
Fairfax County government offices: Closed on Monday, May 30.
Fairfax County Public Schools: All Fairfax County Public Schools will be closed May 30.
Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m, on Monday, May 30.
Community centers: Fairfax County community centers are closed Saturday, May 28 through Monday, May 30.
Courts: The Fairfax County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court will be closed May 30.
Department of Motor Vehicles: All DMV customer service centers in Northern Virginia will be closed May 30. This includes the DMV select at Fairfax City Hall.
CUE Bus will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, May 30.
Fairfax Connector: Fairfax Connector will have Sunday service on May 30. Routes operating on a Sunday schedule: 101, 109, 151, 152, 161, 162, 171, 310, 321, 322, 371, 401, 402, 423, 463, 467, 505, 551, 558, 559, 574, 605, 630, 640, 650, 721, 803, 937, 950, 981, 983, RIBS 1, RIBS 2, RIBS 3, RIBS 4 and RIBS 5. Other routes do not typically operate Sundays and will not operate on May 30.
Libraries: On May 30, all Fairfax County Public Library locations will be closed.
Metro: Metro will open at 7 a.m., closing at 1 a.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday and Monday. During the weekend, Metro will close five Orange Line stations between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton through Labor Day. Additional closures are planned during the summer on the Blue Line between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road. See more weekend Metrorail information here.
Park authority: Colvin Run Mill and Sully Historic Site are closed on May 30. The nature centers at E.C. Lawrence, Hidden Oaks, Hidden Pond and Huntley Meadows will be open noon to 5 p.m. on May 30. The Riverbend Park visitor center will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 30. Frying Pan Farm Park is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but the visitor center is closed. The Green Spring Gardens Horticultural House is open noon to 4:30 p.m. but the Historic House is closed.
Post offices: Closed on May 30.
Recreation centers: Open regular opening time to 6 p.m. on May 30. George Washington Rec Center is closed on May 30.
Trash and recycling: In Fairfax City, Monday and Tuesday refuse and recycling routes will be collected on Tuesday, May 31. For county collection customers, regular trash and recycling collection will happen on May 30. If you have private collection, contact your hauler.
Trash and recycling centers: The Recycling and Disposal Centers at the I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road) and the I-95 Landfill Complex (9850 Furnace Road) are open regular hours on May 30.
