Memorial Day 2026: What’s Open, Closed Around Fairfax City

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Many government offices, courts, transit services and public facilities in and around Fairfax City will be closed or operating on modified schedules for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25.

Below are the changes to know around Fairfax City:

Fairfax City Public Schools: Fairfax City Schools operate through a partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools, and the FCPS 2025-26 calendar lists Monday, May 25, as the Memorial Day holiday.
