FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The shelter-in place-order sent out Sunday afternoon by City of Fairfax Police was in reference to a mental health call, according to Sgt. Lisa Gardner, a public information officer with the city police.

At first, police issued a traffic advisory via Twitter at 2:32 p.m. Sunday for 4055 Glendale Way. This was followed by an SMS alert at 2:41 p.m. asking the public to stay inside due to a heavy police presence and avoid the areas of Judicial Drive, Cameron Drive and Glendale Way. A followup tweet at 3:08 p.m. gave the all clear.

No one was injured and no charges were made in connection with the incident, according to Gardner.
