Here's what's open and what's closed for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Lee-Jackson Day in Fairfax City.

FAIRFAX, VA — Here's the government operating schedule for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Lee-Jackson Day in the city. All Fairfax County public schools will be closed and Jan. 15, and thus so will Fairfax City schools.

Friday, Jan. 12: Lee-Jackson Day

  • City government offices: open; all services provided as usual.
  • General District Court: closed.

Monday, Jan. 15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day

  • General District court: closed.
  • Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center: open.
  • Refuse and recyclables collection: no service (Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday. Yard debris will be collected that week.
  • CUE Bus: modified weekday service
