Multiple Assault Against Police Charges Filed Against Fairfax Man
Police arrested a 19-year-old Fairfax man outside a Fairfax Boulevard restaurant, charging him with assault on law enforcement.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested a 19-year-old Fairfax man for assaulting three police officers last Thursday night at a restaurant on Fairfax Boulevard, according the weekly crime report.
Officers responded around 9:53 p.m. for the report of an assault at the PJ Skidoos located at 9908 Fairfax Blvd. The reporting party said they were hit by a man that was known to them after he was denied entry to the restaurant. The victim of the assault declined to prosecute, according to the report.
While the officers were at the restaurant, they spotted a man with an open container of alcohol in the parking lot. They determined the man was intoxicated and took him into custody.

As they were walking the man to the police cruiser, he kicked three officers, causing minor injuries, according the the report. While searching the suspect, the officers reportedly found a pair of brass knuckles.
Police transported 19-year-old Gavin Goffner of Fairfax to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. They charged him with drunk in public, possession of a concealed weapon and three counts of assault on law enforcement. Goffner was then held on a $2,000 secured bond until sober.
