Northern Virginia Weather: The Big Chill?
The National Weather Service in Sterling is predicting a different kind of spring weekend for Northern Virginia, at least in relative terms.
STERLING, VA — If you have a lot of weekend events on your schedule, as long as those events are indoors, you should be just fine. If they're outdoors, well, good luck. That's the word from the area arm of the National Weather Service in Sterling.
Both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly cloudy, with a chance of rain both days and nights. Not only that, but temperatures likely will be in the low 60s — if that. For what it's worth, things begin to pick up by mid week.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers between 8pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 62. North wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Saturday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 47. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 55. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
