Northern Virginia's weather outlook for the week ahead is a mixed scenario, according to the National Weather Service bureau in Sterling.
STERLING, VA — With the weekend having been a relative bummer in terms of rain, clouds and temperatures, the opening of the work week offers scant relief — at least through the first part of the week. That's the word from the National Weather Service bureau in Sterling.
Namely, there's a high chance of rain Sunday night into Monday (which should be chilly), and not until Wednesday does the forecast even see a glimpse of a possibly dry day. Wind gusts Monday night could reach 20 mph.
Come Thursday, however, things begin to look up in a big way. Not only that, but Saturday is expected to be much different from the one we just experienced.

Tonight: Rain, mainly after midnight. Low around 50. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday: Rain. High near 55. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Periods of rain. Low around 51. Northeast wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tuesday: Periods of rain. High near 61. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Tuesday Night: Rain before 9pm, then a chance of showers after 9pm. Low around 55. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
