NoVA Nonprofit Clients Attend Financial Literacy Workshop

FAIRFAX, VA — Clients in HopeLink’s Stepping Stones program took part last week in a financial literacy workshop led by Pinnacle Financial Partners, according to information provided by HopeLink. The class focused on saving money, budgeting, smart spending and other financial skills for adults working toward greater independence.
HopeLink is a mental health nonprofit serving Northern Virginia and other areas, according to the organization. Pinnacle is a HopeLink corporate partner and provides financial and volunteer support throughout the year.
HopeLink’s Stepping Stones program is a flexible, group-based psychosocial rehabilitation program for adults who are ready for more independence in their recovery but still want to attend groups and continue building skills, according to the organization. The program is offered in partnership with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board and is intended to fill a gap for clients who no longer need an intensive structure and are seeking a step-down option.

During last week’s workshop, Pinnacle volunteers taught Stepping Stones clients about saving as they work toward independence, along with budgeting, smart spending and other essential financial skills, according to HopeLink.
