One Virginia Sears Store On New Closure List
Sears Holdings announced 46 stores will close, including one in Virginia. Liquidation sales may start as early as Aug. 30.

VIRGINIA — One Sears store will be closing for good soon in Virginia. A spokesperson for Sears Holdings said 46 unprofitable stores nationwide will be shuttered in November as the gasping retail giant tries to focus on the most successful stores while streamlining operations and improving its capital position.
"We continue to evaluate our network of stores, which is a critical component to our integrated retail transformation, and will make further adjustments as needed," the company said in a release. "We thank associates affected by these store closures for their many contributions to our company."
Liquidation sales will begin as early as Aug. 30 at the stores.
