Parts of Main Street Closed Tuesday Night
Passage will be limited from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. for storm-pipe installation near University Drive.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Parts of Main Street will be closed Tuesday from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. because of storm-pipe installation.
Main Sreet will be closed to through traffic from Chain Bridge Road to University Drive. Through traffic will be detoured to North St.
Flagmen will be stationed at the closure points so local traffic can access buildings and parking lots on Main Steet, which will be closed to all traffic on the west side of Main and University Dr (at the work zone).

The southbound side of University Drive will be closed. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the northbound lanes. Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) is an alternate north-south route through downtown Fairfax which will avoid the work zone.
