Stellar pitching and defense allowed the Phillies (5-3) to take a 5-3 victory over the White Sox (5-3) at Chilcott Stadium on Thursday.
"We executed well on defense," said Phillies coach Julius Rothstein. "Alex Miller and Dany Checkosky both pitched great. They did awesome!"
The White Sox didn't just give the game away, however. Their highlight came in the fourth inning when second baseman Joey Kronlage and shortstop Sean Nickle turned a 6-4-3 double play to promptly end a Phillies rally.

"When we were warming up, I told [Sean] if there was a runner on first we got this double play," said Kronlage. "[The team] was pumped after."
The two teams do not face off again for the rest of the season, which runs into mid-June.
