Neighbors, business owners and council members pulled on their finest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fairfax City and the start of the 26th annual Spotlight on the Arts Spring Festival Friday night.

Guests browsed the auction items lining the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center hallways. Tuxedoed waiters made the silent auction circuit with champagne and hors d'oeuvres. Acappella singers from George Mason University and the Fairfax High School Show Choir performed on stage in the dinner hall.
