PHOTOS: First Day of School for Fairfax County Public Schools

Fairfax County Public Schools welcomed students Tuesday; many parents and teachers posted photos on social media to mark the occasion.

It’s the first day of school Tuesday for thousands of students across Fairfax County and Fairfax City. Parents and FCPS posted photos to social media this morning to mark the occasion.

(In 1961, a School Services Agreement (SSA) was entered with the City of Fairfax Schools and FCPS. Under this agreement, FCPS manages and operates city schools, hires staff and develops curriculum, while the City School Board is responsible for the management of the contract and the four city-owned school buildings.)
