Police: Fake Cop Accosts Woman in Her Apartment

Suspect is behind bars after Sunday night incident, say Fairfax City police.

Fairfax City police arrested a man on Sunday night who walked into a local woman’s apartment, grabbed her by the arm and claimed to be a police officer.

Paramveer Singh, 32, of 4165 Brookgreen Drive, in the Fair Ridge area, was taken into custody and transported to the Fairfax County jail, where he was charged with impersonating a police officer, assault and being drunk in public, according to a police report.

At 9:06 p.m., the Fairfax City woman reported to police that a man claiming to be a police officer, later identified as Singh, had entered her apartment saying he was looking for a female subject. The apartment is in the 10800 block of Cedar Avenue, the police report said.

During the confrontation between the resident and a male guest, the suspect refused to show a badge and grabbed the female resident’s arm. The police responded to the scene, located Singh and took him into custody.
