Crash Victim Dies, Police Seek Witnesses to Wreck (Update)

Woman died Monday, according to Fairfax County Police. Details sought in wreck on Sunday near Fairfax City.

The woman in a Sunday wreck near Fairfax City has died from her injuries, according to Fairfax County Police. Police are looking for witnesses to the wreck.

The victim has been identified as Nancy Schade, 85, of the Fairfax area.

The two vehicles collided around 2:12 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Braddock Road and Roberts Road, according to police.

A Chantilly-area man, 47, was driving a 2000 Ford van east on Braddock Road and a woman, driving a 2001 Cadillac, was traveling west on Braddock Road.

The driver of the Ford reportedly attempted to turn left onto Roberts Road, crossing into the path of the oncoming Cadillac.

The driver and passenger in the van were not injured. The woman driving the Cadillac was transported to Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash, according to police.
