Congratulations to all of our superhero nominees and award recipients at the 2014 Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards! With the theme Ordinary People, Extraordinary Impact, community volunteers were "unmasked" and honored by colleagues, friends, family and county leaders on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Waterford in Springfield, VA.
Our emcee, Jeff Goldberg, Virginia Bureau Chief for ABC7/WJLA-TV and News Channel 8, kept the event moving and enjoyed our superhero theme and metaphors.
Volunteer Fairfax was pleased to welcome special guests, members of the Volunteer Fairfax Board of Directors and Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Over 400 attendees enjoyed breakfast, networking, and the Popcorn Bar. Several lucky people won raffle prizes, donated by generous community organizations.
Volunteer Fairfax wishes to thank our event sponsors At&T, Dominion, NOVEC, and premier sponsor, Altamira. Special thanks to event photographer, Jeremy Norwood, for capturing all the special moments.
