The event will honor Alan T. Brown, director of public impact at the Christopher Reeve Foundation. A portion of proceeds from the golf tournament and dinner will go to THE BIG IDEA, a part of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which supports many initiatives across the spinal cord injury (SCI) community to expand education, awareness and ensure that resources are available to the entire disability community. Walking With Anthony will also present a surprise financial grant to a local Northern Virginia resident who suffered an unfortunate spinal cord injury.
The event will feature a fabulous day of golf with Washington Redskins players, alumni and other legendary sports celebrities and VIP guests. Golfers will be treated to The Liberty Mutual Invitational Gift Suite. The Gift Suite will feature a variety of items including golf gear, shoes and custom-rolled cigars. A BBQ lunch and snacks will be served on the golf course during the tournament.

All golfers are invited to an exclusive dinner reception at The Country Club of Fairfax featuring live entertainment, silent/live auctions, awards and prizes.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Walking with Anthony, which was inspired by Anthony Purcell, a young man who became disabled during a tragic accident in 2010, but can now stand with the help of a walker. Walking with Anthony is dedicated to raising awareness of the impact of spinal cord injuries (SCI), raising funds to provide financial assistance for SCI victims, expanding rehabilitation centers and supporting research relating to SCI rehabilitation.
Former Washington Redskin, and local radio personality, Rick “Doc” Walker will serve as the emcee for the dinner. Walker is currently the sideline reporter for the Washington Redskins, co-host of “Inside the Locker Room” on radio station ESPN 980 and host of “Doc Walker’s ProView” on cable TV channel MASN.
Registration for individual golfers is $500. Foursomes are $1,800 and foursomes with Redskins alumni players are $2,500. Tickets to the dinner reception only are $150. To register for the golf tournament or to purchase tickets to the dinner reception, please visit www.walkingwithanthony.org.
