Ruthies All-Day Sets Sights On New Opening Date

Originally expected to open last fall in Fairfax Corner, Ruthies All-Day has set its sights on a new opening date.

FAIRFAX, VA — Originally scheduled to open last fall in Fairfax Corner, a popular Arlington restaurant has sights set on a spring 2026 opening instead.

Recently, a spokeswoman with Ruthies All-Day, the Arlington restaurant known for its Southern hospitality and comfort food, told Patch that the company expects to open its Fairfax Corner location sometime in March.

The new restaurant will be located in the former home of the Plow & Hearth home decor store at 11951 Grand Commons Ave.

James Beard-nominated Chef Matt Hill and his partner Todd Salvadore own and operate Ruthie’s, which has been voted Best Restaurant in Virginia, Best Brunch, and Best Casual Restaurant, according to a release.

Hill named the restaurant after his grandmother, Ruthie, whose homestyle North Carolina cooking inspired him.

“Our community has been so supportive of Ruthie’s All-Day since we opened in Arlington, and we are very excited to bring that same warm hospitality throughout Fairfax, my wife’s hometown,” Hill said. “We can’t wait to welcome even more people to share in the great food, friendly service, and relaxed vibe that make Ruthie’s so special.”
