Body Of Soldier Killed In Afghanistan Carried In Motorcade Traveling I-66 On Thursday
A motorcade carrying the body of a service member killed in Afghanistan will be traveling through Fairfax County Thursday afternoon.
FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County Police will be escorting a motorcade through the county around 3 p.m. on Thursday. The motorcade will include a hearse carrying the body of a service member who was killed recently in Afghanistan, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account.
Members of the public who wish to pay their respects to the service member may gather on overpasses along the route from I-66 to I-495, according to police.
The motorcade will also be accompanied by two helicopters.
