Traffic Alert: Two Lanes Closed Again on Route 29

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- As work continues on an underground sewer line, two lanes of Lee Highway (Route 29) will be closed on Friday at Fairfax Circle, and drivers should find alternate routes.

A work zone will block the center and left lanes of southbound Route 29 between Blake Lane and Fairfax Circle, according to Fairfax City officials. The lanes will be reopened at 4 p.m. Friday, in time for the evening rush hour.

The emergency repairs began Wednesday morning, and a city public works official said they could be completed by Saturday, depending on the weather. Traffic control devices will direct motorists around the work zone.
