Traffic Warning During Michelle Obama Event Friday in Fairfax

Ahead of the Friday afternoon event, Fairfax Police say to expect delays and to consider alternate routes.

FAIRFAX, VA — First Lady Michelle Obama's speech Friday at George Mason University likely will cause traffic delays on campus roads as well as the surrounding area.

Fairfax Police urge motorists to use extra caution and to consider alternate routes.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Center on the George Mason campus, 4400 University Drive.

At the public Democratic Party of Virginia organizing event, Obama will urge Virginians, especially young people, to support party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine in November and register to vote ahead of the Oct. 17 deadline.
